Our Church’s 170th Anniversary celebrations will begin on Friday, August 28th with a formal Anniversary Banquet at 6:30pm at The Family Life Centre at Rock Church – 222 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville, NS. We are delighted to have Dr. Harry Gardner, President and Dean of Theology for Acadia University, as our guest speaker for this celebration. Tickets are $35.00.

On Saturday, August 29th, we will continue our celebrations with a Family Barbeque at 5pm at the Upper Hammonds Plains Community Centre (this is a FREE event). Immediately following this event at 7pm, we will host a Celebration of the Arts Gospel Extravaganza. This concert will feature musical guests like: Pastor Richard J. Brown, Chelsea Amber and Broadcast, Patricia Shirley, Terri-Lynn Rapitta and others. Tickets are $20.00.

Our celebrations on Sunday, August 30th will be two-fold. During the morning worship service at 10am, we will celebrate the 16th Year of Pastoral Ministry for our Overseer, the Rev. Dr. Lennett J. Anderson. We are delighted to have Bishop Donald Hilliard, Jr., Senior Pastor of Cathedral International — The Historic Second Baptist Church in Perth Amboy, NJ, USA as our guest preacher for both Sunday worship services.

At 3pm, we will observe EBC’s 170th year of Christian witness. Our Anniversary celebrations will conclude with a Commissioning Service for Deacons. This service is one of the highlights of our anniversary weekend, where we will affirm returning servant leaders and commission new deacons into faithful service for the kingdom.
