John 10:10 Says that “The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” This is one of the beautiful promises that, through Christ, we have as believers. And yet, many Christians live in bondage and defeat to a life-controlling issue, never fully receiving the freedom available to us. Life-controlling issues and destructive habits; substance abuse and mis-use, gambling addiction, on-line shopping, disordered use of food, any of these behavioural or process addictions can result in negative impacts for our lives as believers.
EBC is excited and honoured to be launching Overcomers – a bible-based 12 step recovery program to help people who are struggling with these issues. Through the program of Overcomes, participants can find support, healing and recovery from life-controlling issues, through the biblical model for recovery, through the support of leaders with lived experience and through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Overcomers will take place on Fridays at 7pm, here at EBC, for 13 weeks, starting October 24, 2025. Registration will be online. Participation will include resource materials. Since this is our first time offering the Overcomers program at EBC, we will need to limit participation to a manageable 12 believers at EBC.
