About The Meeting Place
What times are the services?
Our Sunday service begins at 10:30AM & lasts approximately 1 hour & 30 minutes. However, we are open to the leading of the Holy Spirit. What is certain is that we won’t waste your time!
How do I get there?
EBC: The MEETing Place is located in the community of Upper Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia. To find out exactly how to get here, see the map on Our Services page.
What should I wear?
At EBC: The MEETing Place, our diversified congregation means that some wear suits, others dress smartly casual and others choose jeans as their favorite dress code. We would only ask that whatever is worn is appropriate for the setting. However, know that you don’t have to dress up to show up.
What will the service be like?
The MEETing Place has its own unique flavour. No two services are alike. People who visit Emmanuel have commented on the welcoming atmosphere, the vibrant, uplifting worship, the richness of the preached word, and the presence of the anointing in all we do. Simply come expecting to meet with God as He seeks to meet with you.
What do I have to do?
We believe in celebrating first-time visitors. During our worship time we ask new visitors to stand so we can celebrate them meeting with us. However, we value your anonymity, if that is your heartfelt wish. Our time together is more about you encountering God in whatever way He chooses to meet you.
Is this a specific denomination, or something else?
Traditionally we are a Baptist Church (Emmanuel Baptist Church). However, in seeking to fulfill our vision, our church has become “EBC: The MEETing Place”. This means that those who worship here hail from various cultures and denominations, and share different approaches to faith and worship. However, we are unashamedly committed to the truth of Christianity. We believe in the truth of the Bible as God’s word and its importance in understanding God’s direction for our lives. This is our one standard for faith and practice. Take a moment to view our beliefs here.
I have kids. Will there be something at your service for them?
You bet! We have a fun-packed and exciting children’s program including the Children’s Nursery for ages 0-4 years, where both nursing mothers and mothers of younger children can still hear and see the service while caring for their precious gifts. Junior Church is for those ages 5-12 years. Here, children participate in a fun-filled program where they meet God in a way that preserves the wonder of all God is and yet makes Him their faithful friend.
