30 HOUR FAMINE
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ – Matthew 25:34-36
The 30 Hour Famine campaign at EBC: The MEETing Place is overseen by the young people department. In 2012 Children, Youth and Young Adults (together with the entire EBC congregation) participated in this global endeavour by giving their time, energy and enthusiasm towards making a difference in the world. Through a partnership with World Vision that requires young people to engage in activities that help them to identify with the hungry and oppressed, our young people learned to appreciate the basic necessities that we have. This year’s famine Sunday was another great demonstration of how God uses young people to do great things in our world. Together we raised over $4,950 in pledges. Thank you for partnering with us to change lives.
